Camping At Riffe Lake Campground

The other weekend we took a trip up to Washington to go camping. We decided to go to Riffe Lake Campground as it seemed like a good spot to camp and wasn’t too far of a drive. So we packed up Thursday and headed out Friday after work. This post shares some of the little experiences that made this trip so awesome for us.

Camp

The campsite that we choose at Riffe Lake had a picnic table, fire pit, and awesome seating area. As you can see in the image here, most of the campsite is gravel; so we ended up moving the picnic table a bit to have dirt below the tent.

After setting up camp and walking around we soon realized that we seemed to have the best campsite. This was the only site with a natural seating area like this, and a spotty view of the lake through the trees. We were stoked, that we camped the next weekend at Riffe Lake Campground.

This was our group the first weekend of camping. We stayed the two nights and had a blast. The next weekend Estefana stayed home and I met again with Dakota, big man, and his dad joined in. The post is a mixture of both weekends.

Dakota brought his little kayak like boat so we carried it down to the lake. His dog Chip joined us as we paddled around Riffe Lake. It felt awesome being out on the water.

The first trip Estefana and I brought our inflatable paddle boards and kayak. They worked out great for everyone.

The Best Kind of Food

I brought a set of skillet pans to cook our food in. Dakota brought a sweet little propane burner so we used that to cook our food. Dakota took care of most the cooking. We had eggs, potatoes, pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit, and other things for lunch and dinner. We had some great meals while we sat around the campfire.

We all had a great time camping at the Riffe Lake Campground. This was “big man’s” first camping trip and I think he will remember this one. He spent a lot of time running around, exploring, and finding out new stuff. So happy to spend the time with them as we hadn’t visited in a while. It was also great having Dakota’s dad join and I know it was amazing for him to have connecting time with his son and grandson. We were sad to leave but could only smile at the memories we had made.
